Christmas is here and there’s no place like Ortisei to truly experience this merry time of the year with all five of your senses. Listen to Christmas carols, be guided to the doors of bakeries and stalls by the sweet smell of Christmas cookies wafting through the village, kneel and ever so lightly touch the wood carved nativity scene figures, gaze in wonder at the advent decorations peppering the village and the landscape covered in snow. At the end of the day sit back, close your eyes, and enjoy a steaming mug of mulled wine. December is that time of the year when the main village in Val Gardena becomes truly magical.

From 20th to 21st December 2024, a series of ski competitions, music, shows and performances will be rolled out to entertain you within the incredible atmosphere of the Ski World Cup. The legendary Saslong ski run is all set to thrill you and get your adrenaline pumping. The awards ceremony will be held in Ortisei in Piazza Sant'Antonio, practically opposite the Hotel Genziana... an opportunity for our guests that simply cannot be missed!

The HERO Bike Festival will be taking place in June 2024 against a backdrop of rare beauty, the Dolomites UNESCO world heritage centre. A tight schedule of events and festivities will be accompanying the HERO Südtirol Dolomites, one of the world’s toughest bike race. The HERO’s 86 and 60 km-long tracks in the Sella mountain range will be offering a world-class performance to indulge your passion or just plain curiosity. The HERO start and finish areas in Selva di Val Gardena are within convenient reach of the Hotel Genziana in Ortisei.
